Why can’t I attract what I want into my life?
Manifesting gets a lot of bad press because of it being wrongly marketed as an easy way to have all the goodies. However, from my own experience:
- It is easy to work with law of attraction techniques unsuccessfully.
- There is nothing easy about working with the law of attraction successfully.
- Like attracts like. If you want something but are radiating the opposite, you will repel what you would like.
- If you want to attract something to you, you must give off more of what you would like to attract. If you want wealth, how can you bring more wealth to others? If you want love, are you bringing any love into the world?
- It requires trial and error; taking responsibility for oneself; courage; strength; commitment and the ditching of denial.
- The fact that it costs is a good thing, because if you can exercise and develop the aforementioned characteristics, your life will improve dramatically anyway.
But I’m using all the techniques!!!
If you would like to start using these practices or are using them already, but finding them difficult, it is really important that you work on your self-concept. These techniques won’t work if you haven’t done some preparatory work on the psychological and emotional levels. If you have a negative self-image and believe that you are doomed to fail in life, no amount of visualising or affirming is going to override this.
Let’s say you meditate in the morning and imagine yourself doing your dream job and then write 100 times in your journal, ‘I have my dream job’. Then, for the other 16 hours that you are awake, the chatter in your head keeps repeating the old negative messages, ‘they are all better than you…you won’t get the job…you don’t know what you are doing…’ Your subconscious will accept the negative messages because that is what it is hearing the most and that is what you believe.
